What Community Can Do: Over $15,000 Raised for Independent Retailers
When our industry comes together, real impact happens.
Thanks to the generosity of our community, Heart on Main Street raised more than $15,000 through GivingTuesday and Pink Friday to support independent retailers across the country. Every dollar raised helps small businesses access disaster relief, education, and hands-on rebuilding support when they need it most.
Giving Tuesday: Generosity Multiplied
On Giving Tuesday, we raised $11,250 through individual donations, brand support, and match partners who stepped up to amplify every gift. This collective effort allowed each contribution to go further and reach more independent retailers navigating recovery and growth.
We are deeply grateful to our GivingTuesday match partners: Nora Fleming, The Savvy Shopkeeper, Warmies, Capital Commerce, IndERA, Stickers Northwest, Retail Mavens, Unemployed Philosophers Guild, IvyStone, JG2HI, Whizbang, Mary Meyer, Tag, Portico, Sincere Surroundings, Two’s Company, Dallas Market Center, and Beatriz Ball. Their generosity played a meaningful role in strengthening the Main Street businesses we serve.
We were also proud to be supported by Dr. Doug’s, which donated 20 percent of all retail purchases made on its website on GivingTuesday directly to Heart on Main Street. This type of brand-led giving shows how everyday purchases can become powerful acts of support.
Pink Friday: Turning Participation Into Impact
Beyond GivingTuesday, Heart on Main Street was honored to be selected as the donation recipient of The Boutique Hub’s Pink Friday initiative. Pink Friday encourages consumers to shop small and support independent retailers ahead of Black Friday, celebrating the power of local commerce.
Through The Boutique Hub’s Pink Friday sign-up campaign, nearly $3,800 was raised for Heart on Main Street, with one dollar donated for every independent retailer that registered to participate. Each sign-up represented more than a number. It represented a business owner choosing community over competition and generosity over convenience.
What This Support Makes Possible
Funds raised through GivingTuesday and Pink Friday directly support Heart on Main Street’s core programs, including disaster-relief grants, educational opportunities, and hands-on rebuilding projects for independent retailers impacted by natural disasters and economic challenges.
This support helps ensure that independent retailers can continue doing what they do best: serving their communities, creating jobs, and keeping Main Streets vibrant.
Thank You for Showing Up
To everyone who donated, matched, purchased, signed up, and shared, thank you. Your support proves that when our industry leads with heart, meaningful change follows.
