Supporting Retailers When It Matters Most
When Hurricane Helene devastated parts of North Carolina, two independent retailers Willow Creek in Chimney Rock and J. Gabriel in Waynesville were left facing major setbacks.
Thanks to the support of The Link Companies, both stores received critical donations that helped them rebuild, restock, and reopen their doors.
These contributions were more than financial aid. They provided momentum, restored confidence, and reminded these retailers that they are not alone.
Because of this partnership, both businesses are back to doing what they do best, serving their communities and keeping Main Street strong.
Showing Up with Heart
When we launched our first-ever Independent Rebuild project in Asheville, we knew it would take more than funding to bring a storm-damaged retailer back to life. It would take hands, heart, and hard work.
The Link Companies didn’t hesitate. Members of their team showed up in person, volunteering their time and energy to help paint, landscape, and breathe new life into Dogwood Darlings, a children’s boutique impacted by Hurricane Helene.
Their team worked side by side with other industry volunteers to refresh the store’s exterior, transform the second-floor interior, and make the space feel vibrant and welcoming again.
This level of commitment speaks volumes. It’s not just about giving, it’s about being there. And The Link Companies continues to set the standard for what partnership looks like on the ground.
